When fans at Colorado State University (CSU) have a hankering to snack on something delicious during a game they can now look for the new food truck! The state-of-the-art food truck was donated by Human Bean Northern Colorado owners, Frank and Kay Sherman. In a gesture that epitomizes generosity and giving back, the Shermans passed the keys to CSU Athletic Director, Joe Parker, during a ceremony at Canvas Stadium on November 30.

This was the natural next step for “The Human Bean on Wheels.” After all, CSU was pretty much the food truck’s home base. For the last eight years, The Human Bean truck was stationed at CSU serving students on the weekends and over school breaks. They also were a longtime fixture at the Lagoon concerts quenching the thirst of music-loving attendees! Being on campus proved advantageous to staff, students, and fans. The baristas who worked at the coffee truck on campus were all Colorado State students and served over 50,000 beverages to staff and students while it was parked there.

The Human Bean team was buzzing with excitement leading up to the day when they could hand the keys over to CSU Athletics. Giving back is at the heart of The Human Bean’s business. The coffee chain has a history of actively sponsoring local events, supporting local nonprofits, and fostering a sense of belonging in the communities they serve. For Frank, staying connected to Colorado State, and specifically the athletic department, was always a primary focus for him and The Human Bean.

“My wife and I have lived in Fort Collins for 25 years. We’ve been involved with CSU, starting with season tickets to football and basketball back in the day. We just have a love for the university. It means so much to be able to pass the truck on and have it service the die-hard fans on game days,” said Frank.

Cam the Ram is particularly excited to have this new addition on the fields!

CSU partner, Oak View Group Hospitality, which facilitates all food and beverages at Canvas Stadium, Moby Arena and the softball and soccer fields, will retrofit the truck with a custom wrap emblazoned with spirit and pride in CSU colors and logos. The truck will not only be stationed at all outdoor events, but may even be used for catering events, too.

Look for the new food truck at games in Spring 2024.
